Apostille for Turkey
Turkey is a country that is popular among Ukrainians. Many people decide to move there to live, but for this it is necessary to prepare a number of documents and perform various procedures. One of them is the affixing of the Apostille seal.
An apostille is an international seal that is recognized by all States parties to the Hague Convention of 1961. Thanks to this seal, documents issued in one country receive legal force in another. Ukraine and Turkey recognize the Apostille, so in order for Ukrainian documents to be legal in Turkey, they need to be apostilled .
There are two most common situations in which an apostille may be needed for Ukrainian documents submitted to Turkish state authorities.
1. For a residence permit in Turkey
A residence permit in Turkey can be issued for a period of one year, and then it can be renewed annually (after eight years, you can apply for Turkish citizenship). To obtain a residence permit, it is necessary to apostille a marriage certificate (if the documents are submitted by the family), a diploma of higher education (it will increase the chances of a positive decision). If the residence permit is issued only to one of the parents with a child, you will need a notarized and apostilled power of attorney from the second parent.
2. Apostille for obtaining Turkish citizenship
To obtain Turkish citizenship, it is necessary to issue an apostille on the following documents: your passport (its notarized translation), all documents confirming marital status (marriage certificates, divorce certificates), birth certificates.
