Apostille on the diploma

The apostille seal on the diploma and its supplement is issued by the Ministry of Education of Ukraine.

What is an apostille? Apostille is an international seal that confirms the legality of a document on education for presentation on the territory of other countries (which have entered into the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961).

If a country is not included in the list of countries of the Hague Convention, you need a similar procedure for consular legalization.

The list of necessary documents for affixing an apostille:

1) The original of the educational document (specialist’s diploma, bachelor’s diploma, master’s diploma, school certificate);
1) A copy of your passport.

 Apostille is placed only on the originals of documents on education, a diploma of higher education, a certificate of secondary education, a certificate of qualification, an academic degree, certificates.

 The apostille of the diploma can be affixed only on the originals of state-issued educational documents. A notarized copy of educational documents is not accepted for affixing an apostille.

Where can I put an apostille on a diploma in Ukraine?

The apostille on the diploma, certificate and other educational documents is affixed by the Department of the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine in Kyiv.
Regardless of the city in which you received your document: In Kharkiv, Dnipro or Lviv, the procedure for affixing an apostille is performed in Kyiv.

When affixing the apostille seal, the Ministry of Education establishes the fact of issuing an educational document, the authenticity of the signature and the seal with which the document is sealed.

How much does an apostille cost on educational documents?

Old-style documents (diplomas by book, certificates issued before 1991) are accepted for 20 or 30 working days to send a request to a higher educational institution to confirm the fact of issuing a document.
