How to certify the translation of a document?
The certification of translation is becoming more and more in demand every year — this service is resorted to not only by enterprises planning to expand their commercial activities, but also by individuals intending to use the document abroad. UST-group company offers to help with the preparation of documentation.
The translation itself is only the first step in working with documents, because in this form it cannot be used for its intended purpose. To confirm the correctness and legitimacy of the translated document, its certification is carried out. There are two ways to certify a translation:
Which option to choose depends on the specific situation, so we recommend that you first check with the institution where you need to submit the translated document.
Certification with the help of a translation agency seal is the easiest way to legitimize a translation. It means that the translation services were performed by a specialist and meet all the requirements and standards of translation. A finished translation is stitched to the original (or to a copy of the document), stamps are affixed, the languages of translation are indicated, as well as the number of stitched and numbered pages. The translation is certified with a wet seal of the translation agency and a signature.
Notarization of the translation – this method is necessary if an official document is being translated, or it needs to be provided to state institutions (for example, the registry office). Such certification is possible only for legally correct documents, so a notary cannot certify instructions, correspondence, an unsigned contract or unofficial documents.
To perform notarization, the original document (or its copy) is stitched together with the translation, then the translator puts their signature on the last page of the document, and the notary certifies the translator’s signature with their seal. The data about the document and the translator who performed the translation are entered by the notary in the register.
