Is there a difference in the design of different apostille types?

When receiving an international Apostille seal on a document, the question may arise: does this seal look right? On the Internet, you can see various types of apostille design, starting with its general appearance (a 9x9 cm sticker, a separate sheet printed and sewn to the document) and ending with the content (for example, hand-filled or printed text). Is there a difference in the design of apostilles?

Despite the fact that the seal looks different in different state institutions and in different countries, the apostille must meet certain criteria:

  1. The abbreviated name of the Hague Convention (Convention de La Haye du 5 octobre 1961) must be indicated.
  2. The presence of 10 items on the seal (from the country of issue to the signature). It is worth noting that in addition to the ten main points, additional secondary data can be written: links to Internet resources where there is a function of verifying the seal for authenticity, information about the document on which the apostille is affixed, etc. However, all this additional information should not be located in the same place as the main fields.
  3. The size of the seal side (regardless of whether it is a form, a sticker or a separate sheet) must be at least 9 cm.
  4. The apostille shape is always square.
  5. There is a seal and signature (in handwritten or electronic form).

What can be different?
The difference in the appearance of the apostille may be in color, design details, any additions beyond 10 fields. Such minor differences will not affect the validity of the apostille.
